Hi, it’s Ata again. I’ve spent the last two weeks working on internal docs and design documents for various areas of the project.
My development on the tutorial character has been little, however, I have been able to iterate and refine the idea a little. However, the development on other areas of the process demanded my attention, which I had to give. Cuz our deadline is approaching, we wanted to finalize some of the more broad design components.
And to begin chewing on the subject from any angle we could think of to avoid being caught off guard in the following weeks. After several hours of meetings and discussions, we were ultimately happy with the team’s responses and began churning out ideas and sketches.
Metagalaxy Land Starts Taking Shape
As the architecture of the game systems and mechanics took shape and decisions were made, we proceeded to storyboard the entire experience, beginning with the log-in screen. This storyboard will continue to the conclusion of the Demo and will detail every button, animation, and line of speech in the game.
For obvious reasons, we cannot publish our complete methodology, however, we are actively experimenting with numerous methods and styles to identify and create the ideal experience for the end-user; both the UI and the UX are now in iteration mode. Once we are satisfied with these revisions, we will finalize our storyboard and begin applying the style to the whole game, as well as creating our final assets.
Creating the Planets
One of our biggest tasks the past two weeks was the creation of our NFT’s and the underlying system connecting them to the game design. Because of the massive number of expected users, our NFT Pool needs to be ample as well. We decided to utilize a layered design to both supply us with enough NFT’S and to give us the complexity that would satisfy our other game systems.
Each Planet will have resources, and each of the NFT’s five layers will contribute to the game’s internal economy; some of these resources will be related to different coins, while some layers will include surprises. We settled on four different types of planets to begin with: desert, ice, ocean, and forest. These types will just affect the NFTs’ cosmetic appearance; the other layers will determine the quality, availability of mineable resources, and so on.
Each layer is built one at a time, and each layer will contain many assets that will be used to produce and generate the final NFTs.
Layer 1; defines the planet type, forest, ocean, desert, etc.
Layer 2; defines landmass and surface features: deserts, islands, and endless jungle sprawl.
Layer 3; is the cloud layer adding gaseous resources and a more realistic look.
Layer 4; atmosphere creating the atmospheric halo and defining the weather phenomenon.
Every NFT’s going to have limited amounts of resources and which resource and how much of it the NFT contains will be revealed with the purchase. The resale of the NFT’s will be left to the buyers.
We might release different NFT collections authored by different artists and/or collectives and partake in collaborations.
This is the summary of the latest developments in our project and only a part of it. The only reason why we don’t tell you every step we take is to offer you things that you did not expect when the game is released. Have a happy and enjoyable weekend, keep your eyes high, and with us.
